ABF ( Air Blown Fiber)

ABF is different than an air blown cable in that ABF does not have a central strength member. Removing the central strength member reduces the weight and increases the flexibility, but is only possible in units up to 12 fibers. Higher fiber counts require multiple buffer tubes and therefore need a central strength member to maintain structural integrity. Normally air blown fiber contains G 657.2 bend insensitive fiber and is not at risk of breakage due to tight bends. And has an outer diameter ranging from 1 to 1.6 millimeters.
